Smugglers Cove  Resort & Spa is introducing guest tours of its organic Chef’s Vegetable and Herb Gardens. Gastronomes and green fingered guests will have the chance to explore the gardens with Executive Chef Christian Ghisays, learning about the culinary uses of each plant. Herbs freshly grown on the resort grounds include four types of basil, celery, chives, escallion, ginger, lemon grass, morning glory, oregano, parsley, rosemary, thyme and turmeric. Vegetables cultivated by the hotel chefs range from aubergine and beans to cabbage courgettes and cucumber; from lettuce, melon and okra to pak choi, peppers, peas and pumpkin. All of the resort grown produce is used in dishes across its four restaurants that feature Italian, Asian, International and Creole cuisine.

These new awards were launched this year and winners chosen from customer feedback over the past 12 months.
